The high of the Welsh rugby flanker Powell’s victory over Scotland In the six nations cup has all ended in tears after a rather indulgent evening of celebrations.

The 28-year-old flanker was arrested and later charged for drink driving a stolen golf buggy along the M4 between junctions 33 and 34.

Powell and an acquaintance had returned from a boozy night out in Cardiff – where the star has been pictured without his trousers, to the hotel golf and spa resort where the national team were staying, and took the slow moving vehicle for a spin in search of an early morning breakfast.

Authorities picked up the Welsh Flanker and his accomplice at a service station where they were arrested. Powell was later charged.

Mike Burton Mr Powell’s agent has told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Andy was disappointed and embarrassed to find himself in this position. He does not excuse or condone drink driving in any form and it was a misjudgment. He is sorry and he will face up to it.”

Powell is indeed dealing with the consequences of his actions after being dropped from Wales’ Six National Squad, he is also awaiting a trial at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on 2nd March – where he could lose his driving license.

Towing Services Are Economical And Essential

Everyone has witnessed the aftermath of accidents when the battered cars are towed away by tow trucks. The benefits of these towing services are many.

The crime rate is growing rapidly and the prospect of being alone in the evening walking through a dark stretch of highway is frightening. Women especially are vulnerable when they are driving alone or with children through an isolated area. We would love to all be constantly protected from both hidden and obvious dangers at all times but, the reality is, we are not.

A number of situations arise in ones lifetime where you may need the services of a towing company. If you are in an accident and the car is damaged extensively then you will need to find the nearest towing company which can be a hassle. The company may be expensive and you may not be carrying enough to cover the costs. Getting your car to the garage and getting it fixed may cost you the same as getting it towed to the mechanic in the first place.

Driving License Points: The Facts

by Peter Owen

Penalty points are often given in the event of a motorist being convicted of a traffic offence, and are also referred to as endorsements.

In the event of points being given, the lowest amount that can be received is two points for lesser offences and for serious offences the maximum given is eleven, with the majority of offences warranting three points or more penalty points. In certain cases points are given for multiple occurrences of the same crime(for example if more than one tyre is defective) and penalty points are usually obligatory but the actual number of points is discretionary.

All endorsements have a unique offence code and a record of the points is put onto your counterpart and upon conviction you will need to produce your driving license to the police, the fixed penalty office (FPO) or at your court appearance, so the points can be added.

Depending on the offence the penalty points must stay on your license for a duration of either four or eleven years. They stay on for four years if you have committed reckless/dangerous driving, offences resulting in disqualification or have been disqualified from driving until a driving test has been passed, and for eleven if the conviction is related to drugs or drinking and driving, causing death by careless driving while under the influence, or causing death by careless driving, then failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Trenton traffic tickets are expensive, not just once, but over and over again. The cost of the ticket itself can be hundreds of dollars, and unpaid tickets will continue to accrue interest charges and penalties. This is merely the beginning of the financial difficulties that people may end up facing.

Repeated traffic tickets will raise a person’s insurance rates, resulting in even more charges. This can quickly become literally thousands of dollars. Some have actually faced jail time and extensive legal bills as a result of not paying the fines. This is certainly a situation that everyone wants to avoid.

Obeying the speed limit is one way that will not only keep people from receiving tickets, but also keep them safe on the road. Many people feel that they must speed when they are in a hurry. In all actuality, the ones that get caught and receive speeding tickets are the lucky ones. The unlucky ones may encounter life-threatening accidents or worse.

Some people do not seem to understand the importance of using the directional signal. Many will not learn until they have been rear-ended by another vehicle. These signals are included as basic equipment in every vehicle for a reason. It is important that they are used, even if individuals feel that there are few vehicles on the road.

This article is not another one on how to learn basic driving skills. You don’t need to be reading about changing lanes, parallel parking and turn signals. Instead you will be learning about the risks taken when drinking and driving and how drinking even a little before driving can cause major problems. Associations like MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, have been able to make great strides in educating people about driving after drinking. However you should consider how drinking can affect your driving skills.

Just one drink can affect the way you multitask. Multitasking is a hard skill to accomplish even without alcohol and when you are under the influence it can become extremely hard. Some classic TV shows make fun of drunken people messing up as they try to multitask. We lose our ability to function normally when we are drinking and multitasking is a major skill that is affected.

Even when you are not under the influence of alcohol you need to concentrate in order to drive. You must keep up a continuous watch on rearview mirrors, side mirrors or just out of the windshield. Even on remote country lanes, where there are not many drivers on the road, we still have to be alert and be aware of our surroundings, as animals could cross at anytime and present a danger. If our senses are impaired and we are unable to concentrate our driving will not be up to standard.

You are cruising along, but fail to check the speedometer. That is when you hear the sirens. You see the red and blue lights. You know what is to come. These are the days of speeding tickets that just make you want to cringe at how much they are now days. So, what else is there to know about these tickets?

Some of you might wonder at what miles over the speed limit will they pull you over. Each officer is different. There are some who give you a good enough advantage where they only pull you over after five miles over the posted speed limit. Others have been on the job way too long and do not give you any chance at all. The same is true about if they deliver a warning or slap you with a ticket.

The normal rate these days is seventy five dollars for the first one. However, getting multiple of these things is not suggested. The more you get the more points you get against you. The points only earn you a trip to riding the bus as well. SO be careful. Take extra precaution by hiring a professional paralegal.
