GMC models, as well, exhibit fuel advantages over like models from other manufacturers. The GMC Yukon XFE gets 21 MPG, topping Ford Expedition’s 20 and Toyota Sequoia’s 19. GMC’s Sierra Hybrid, yielding 21, tops Honda Accord V6’s and Toyota Camry V6’s mutual 19. The GMC Acadia provides 24 MPG, in contrast with Mazda CX-9 at 22 and Honda Pilot at 23. GMC’s Yukon Hybrid nets 21 MPG, while the Honda Accord V6 and Toyota Camry V6 both get 19. GMC Canyon 5 cylinder yields 23, beating out Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 and Toyota Tacoma 4.0L V6, both with 21. The GMC Sierra XFE achieves 21, versus Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L V8 at 20 and Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 at 18. And lastly, GMC’s Envoy Denali 4WD gives 20, as compared to both the Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 4WD and the Ford Explorer V8 4WD at 19.

These comparisons show the GMC, Buick, and Pontiac commitment to giving efficiency excellence. GMC has also had commitment for developing hybrid vehicles, specifically the GMC Yukon hybrid SUV and the full-sized pickup truck GMC Sierra hybrid. Buick is expected in 2011 to be the first prime automaker to produce a 2-mode plug-in hybrid crossover compact.
